Customer Service
  • When are your customer service hours?
    • Please Contact Us any time.
      Our office is open between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Mountain Standard Time.
  • Do you have a retail store?
    • The retail store in Salt Lake City, Utah is located at 2205 East 2100 South. For store hours please see our Contact Us page. The studio in Rockville, Maryland is available by appointment only. Please Contact Us to schedule an appointment.
Ordering
  • Do you offer a discount for large quantity orders?
    • As the quantity of the order increases, the price per item decreases. Call us to discuss pricing options if your quantity exceeds the maximum amount offered in our drop-down menu.
  • Will I see a proof of my order before it gets printed?
    • Using our Preview Technology, you will see your customized invitation, including copy layout, typestyle, and ink color. Please keep in mind that this is a preview for fonts (typestyle) and ink color only; it is not a proof. A professional typesetter will determine the correct point size, leading (space between lines of copy), and placement. Your Preview will be followed as closely as possible; however a professional typesetter may adjust sizing and spacing or make necessary adjustments. It is suggested that if you have any questions or concerns, you request an e-mail or a fax proof. If you would like to see a black and white proof before your order is printed, please check the box that reads "Request Proof" as you are checking out or call or e-mail our customer service department. We charge $10.00 for a faxed or e-mailed proof.
  • Can I see a sample (Actual Copy of Invitation) of my invitation before it is printed?
    • A sample invitation can be sent directly to you, though it won't be specifically customized. Each sample costs $4.00. If a sample isn't available, the papers can be sent to show the weight and color. Please contact customer service with any questions.
  • Will the colors vary on each screen setting?
    • Yes, ink colors and paper colors may vary depending on your display. Your printed product may look a little different than the color represented on your screen. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our customer service to discuss colors.
  • Will sales tax be added to my purchase?
    • Only orders with a "Ship To" address in Maryland or Utah will be charged standard state sales tax.
  • On average, how long does it take to receive an order?
    • Each company and order requires a different amount of time to be processed and printed. We try to ensure that your order is received the way you want it in a timely fashion. Please check the average delivery time posted for each company. Some custom orders will take a little longer than average. If a fax or email proof is requested, orders may be delayed slightly. Please e-mail or call us with any questions or for rush orders.

Payment Information
  • What forms of payment do you accept?
    • We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover card.
  • When am I billed for my order?
    • You will be billed for your order once you click "confirm" at the completion of the shopping cart process. A confirmation of charge and order will be e-mailed to the address provided.
  • How do I know that it is safe to use my credit card?
    • It is very safe to shop with The Write Image. Our online store uses industry-standard 128-bit SSL encryption to secure the information that we store (your passwords, address etc.) The Write Image uses authorize.net to protect your credit card information. For more specific information on authorize.net please visit their website at www.authorize.net For other security questions, please look at our privacy policy.
Product
  • Can I print on the back of my stationery?
    • In many cases, printing on the back of your stationery may be possible. Refer to invitation specifics for more details. If you have any additional questions, please contact The Write Image Customer Service Department.
  • If I ordered engraved stationery, can I re-order additional supplies?
    • When you order engraved stationery, the plates are mailed to you along with your stationery, unless they are using disposable dies. You can reorder at a future time by sending the die back to our company. Please contact Contact Us for specific instructions.
  • Where will the envelope lining and printed return address show when double envelopes are included in my order?
    • The envelope lining will be placed on the inside envelope, and the printed return address will be printed on the outside envelope flap.
  • Will you address my envelopes?
    • In the near future we will be offering this service as an option.
  • Can I change the direction of my invitation / stationery?
    • Most of the time it is possible to change the direction of the card to be printed (vertical to horizontal or vice versa); please Contact Us for more information.
  • What is calligraphy, and why do I need to call customer service to process my order when I choose this option?
    • Calligraphy is an art form of handwritten letters created by flowing lines of the copy. Shapes of the letter may vary slightly and the format may have to be adjusted to capture the full beauty of the handwritten letters. Calligraphy has various combinations of letters too numerous to display. Graphic artists will select those letters that best complement your copy. Therefore, we ask that you order calligraphy and special name charges only when you are willing to trust the calligrapher's artistic judgment.
      Customer service must be contacted to complete this order because prices vary depending on the options that you order. We also recommend a fax or e-mail proof when choosing these options.
  • What is a stylized name and special name, and why do I need to call customer service to process my order when I choose this option?
    • Stylized names may not show accurately on your screen. Your letters may flourish differently than the sample. Graphic artists will select those letters that best complement your copy. Therefore, we ask that you order calligraphy and special name charges only when you are willing to trust the calligrapher's artistic judgment.
      Customer service must be contacted to complete this order because prices vary depending on the options that you order. To avoid any disappointment, we encourage you to order an e-mail or a fax proof.
Shipping
  • How do I track my order?
    • The Write Image provides you with a reference number and link to the order tracking system in a confirmation e-mail after you have ordered. Please Contact Us to check the status of your order prior to shipping. In the future, we'll be implementing an automated order tracking system.
  • How long do orders take to ship?
    • Once an order leaves the manufacturer, shipping time will depend on the shipping method that you have selected. For further questions, please contact our Customer Service Department.
  • How much do you charge for shipping?
    • Your orders will be printed by the manufacturers and shipped from their facilities directly to you by UPS.

Return Policy
  • What is your return policy?
    • The Write Image customer service checks for spelling errors, grammar, and will make suggestions about wording when needed. We do not guarantee that we will catch all client errors, especially the spelling of proper names. Please proof read your invitation and then check it again. Follow the proofing checklist for suggestions on proofing your order before submitting your order.

      If there is an error caused by The Write Image or the printer, then we will gladly reprint your order at no cost to you. If it is your error, then The Write Image will reprint your order at a 20% discount.
